The Parenzana Museum at Izola displays the history and distinctive features of the narrow-gauge railway, which was connecting Trieste and Poreč at the beginning of the past century and also passing by the town of Izola.
The Railway Museum is located on the site of the former station of the Parenzana narrow-gauge railway, on the Campo Marzio (Field of Mars) in Trieste.
The museum is located in the abandoned area of the Sečovlje Saltpans. The building and the salt pans were restored by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, Piran Regional Office.
