As part of the EU project CYROS (Interreg Italy-Croatia), whose main goal is to map the Adriatic-Ionian cycling route and connect it with multimodal transport, the Bike&Bus service is being introduced on the Trieste – Poreč route.

The service will start on June 7 and will run until November 2, 2025, according to the following schedule:

Trieste–Poreč/Parenzo: departure at 2:00 PM from the Trieste bus station, Piazza Libertà

Poreč/Parenzo–Trieste: departure at 6:00 PM from the Poreč/Parenzo bus station, Karla Huguesa Street

The BIKE&BUS may make intermediate stops in Noghere (Municipality of Muggia), on via dei Laghetti at the bus stop for line no. 47, and in Plovanija (HR) at the lay-by.

The service will be available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (June 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29; July 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27; August 2, 3, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31; September 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28; October 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26; November 1, 2).

Train transport

Poreč doesn't have a train station, so, there is no train line between Poreč and Muggia (or any other town in Slovenia). The nearest trains station is in Pazin which is 32 km away. You can use bike to get there and then continue with train.

Train Pazin - Koper is available every day, including weekends.

To transport bicycles, it is necessary to make an agreement with the carrier.

Boat

The ships will operate during the season, from June 26 to September 1, 2025, daily except on Tuesdays. The following routes are included: Trieste – Piran – Poreč – Rovinj, Trieste – Rovinj – Mali Lošinj (both ways), Trieste – Poreč – Piran – Trieste, and Trieste – Piran – Rovinj – Trieste.

The ship can carry more than 180 passengers with seats in cabins and at least ten bicycles, further promoting eco-friendly travel.
