Cycling enthusiasts can once again enjoy the popular Bike&Bus service connecting Trieste and Poreč. This free cross-border service allows cyclists to easily travel between the cycling paths of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the famous Parenzana trail.
This initiative is part of the EU project CYROS (Interreg Italy-Croatia), which focuses on mapping the Adriatic-Ionian cycling route and integrating it with multimodal transport. In Istria, the project is implemented by the Administrative Department for Tourism of the Istrian Region, continuing the commitment to sustainable mobility and eco-friendly tourism.
Timetable and Operational Details The service runs every weekend and on public holidays until Sunday, 26 July.
· Trieste – Poreč: Departure at 2:00 PM (Trieste Bus Station, Piazza Libertà 9)
· Poreč – Trieste: Departure at 6:00 PM (Poreč Bus Station, Ulica Karla Huguesa 12)
Important Information
· Mandatory Booking: While the service is free, you must book your seat in advance via the AUTOSERVIZI COGOI website (section: Tratte speciali in Bus – Home). ·
Bikes Only: Travel is permitted only for passengers traveling with bicycles.
The service is funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Croatia 2021-2027 European Territorial Cooperation Programme (ERDF and state funds) as part of the CYROS project.
